The Office Werks line from Creek Bank Creations are tiny replicas of things you see everyday in an office setting. The difference? These come in monochromatic color packs, and instead of manilla paper, they are made of lovely Bazzill cardstock. There are nine different packages ranging from cardstock slide mounts to folders to stencil letters. You may see the entire line here. At first I had a hard time merging the scrapbooking layout and the office look. It took me several tries to get these to "click" for me.

On my first layout I used several of the Office Werks products. Since they come in monochromatic packs, they are easy to mix and match. The File Tab highlights the word "cold" which I printed with my office label maker. To the side of it is a bookplate turned on edge, from which I hung two of their tags from the package of "Windowed File Folders." One of the files from that package lets a photo show through. Finally, the Envelope File holds the journaling. It was a different approach to a snow layout!

The CHEER layout has my favorite use of the Office Werks products. Inside the Library Pocket are little folders. Each folder contains the name of the girl, a couple small photos, and some info about the special part they contribute to the squad. The Stencil Letters nicely convey the title, and a bookplate turned on end holds some stickers that describe the character traits that these girls have all shown while working together.

The mini folder was a nice way to hold the journaling out of site on this "Basketball Rookie" layout. The Stencil Letters are great for the beginning letters of words.

My conclusion -- this product was a stumper for me at first, but the more I used it, the easier it became. My only reservation is that it will be difficult to read the journaling contained in the file folders without removing the layout from its page protector. On the other hand, they would be great for journaling that you don't want everyone to be able to read. This was a truly unique product.

Creek Bank Creations Office Werks Line: The Office has Come Home

The office has come home and it has never been more fun! The Office Werks Line by Creek Bank Creations offers a variety of office-inspired embellishments for your scrapbooks and papercrafts. From stencil letters you can put right on the page, to miniature file folders, to “Envelope Files” that look just like old-fashioned library card pockets, working at home has never been more fun!

These "office items" are die-cut from high-quality Bazzill cardstock and are available in several different monochromatic collections. They are very competitively priced at $2.99 per pack (shop around though -- some online stores charge more).

I received the orange monochromatic Office Werks line. I got to try out almost everything in the line, and I enjoyed them so much that I used up almost everything I was sent! These products are simple and easy to use -- especially in combination with each other because everything coordinates so well. Office Werks products are also simple and easy to alter or highlight with inks, Craf-T Metallic Rub-Ons, chalks or whatever coloring media you like best.

Following is a brief description of each product I used.

Library File Pockets : This is a fun set that has three files contained in one folder. This particular set doesn’t go as far as others, but it was just the right touch for one project I did. I used each of the three files for hidden journaling.

Sans Stencil : Remember the old cardboard stencils from school? These die-cut, acid- and lignin-free stencils can be punched out letter by letter and placed on your projects just like that. I am a big fan of easy lettering options and these tickled me pink. I like sticking the whole stencil down a whole lot better than I liked trying to use them as actual stencils, way back when. They are fully adequate too, with 3 each of vowels, 2 each of consonants, and 1 each of letters. I used the entire stencil, as well as the punchout from the stencil for even more letters. I used them plain, distress-inked, over contrasting colored paper, and even inked the paper under the stencil to provide contrast.

Library File Pockets were great for hidden journaling, and I loved how easily the lettering came together!

Envelope Files : Creek Bank Creations calls these a "fun cross between an envelope and a file folder." I think they look like the pockets and cards found in library books. Either way, Envelope Files are unusual and fun. Use as embellishment alone or for convenient hidden journaling! Available in packs of three.

File Tabs : You really get a lot of tabs in a package here. Again, these are office-esque and I had a fun time stapling them to the tops of photos, pieces of paper, and what-have-you.

With all this office stuff going on in my scrapping room, it inspired me to look a little further into the office to see what else might be fun to use. I thought that the files were the perfect touch for this altered clipboard. I plan to use this for keeping my keys, outgoing mail, and even little notes in the folders.

Windowed File Folders : Three large files that have a "window" cut into them. I used these as cute and easy frames. This pack also contains several matching tags in various sizes.

Mini File Folders : not your usual manila file folders, these little guys are just a couple of inches tall. They are so CUTE! They come in a pack of six, and I used every single one.

Bookplate Collection : This is another package that gives you a lot of pieces! Bookplates resemble little name plaques, or the old-fashioned metal pieces on books that hold pieces of paper. The Bookplates can be easily assembled from two die-cut pieces, one bottom “plaque” piece and a smaller, overlying "label" piece. It is handy that the Bookplates come unassembled, because while it is easy to tell which piece “belongs” with which, it is also easy to make switcheroos in “plaque” and “label” pieces. I even used a File Tab as the "label" piece on one of my pages!

I have to admit that I scraplifted the "crime file" idea, but didn’t it turn out cute? These pages were incredibly easy and so much fun. I even had plenty for two – one for my son’s scrapbook and one for mine.

Review by Rachel

I was thrilled to see the products from Creek Bank Creations. They were very interesting and I was excited about new possibilities. I received of package of windowed file folders, bookplates, mini file folders, library file pocket, file tabs, and a set of stenciled letters. All of my products were in monochromatic purples. This made matching and coordinating very easy. All of these products are made from quality Bazzill and match perfectly.

I was excited to see where my products would take me but it took me several weeks to really have any creative juices flowing. For some reason, it was hard to wrap my brain around office products in my scrapbooking. I could see where they would work great for cards and things like that but using them in my scrapbook required a lot more thought.

My daughter has been asking me to make her a chore chart that she could move things on when she finished her chores. So I thought I would start with that. On the following page I used the Stencil Letters. I love the stencil letters. They are awesome. At the retail price of anywhere from $2.99 to $4.99, you get your money’s worth. The stencils that I received are 1 ¼” tall. One complete set includes 3 of each vowel, 2 of each consonants, and numbers. They come in 15 different colors and are made of quality Bazzill. I really liked this product. They were very easy to use and you can use it on anything from cards to altered art. This stencil set is a very versatile product.

The next project that I chose to do was a card for my husband for Valentine’s Day. Purple is his favorite color. I chose to split up the Library File Folder and use it on this card. I decided I didn’t want to use it in my scrapbook because there really isn’t a way to allow people to read what is in there without actually taking your pages out of your page protectors. With a 4 year old in the house, I have to think about things like that. If she sees an adult take the page out to read it she wants to do the same. I used the Library File Folder as a pocket for the top 10 reason I love him. This way it keeps them private but yet right at hand for him to be reminded every day. I really like how versatile these products are in that you can take them apart and use them separately and they still look just as great. You are not confined to using this product as stated. Your imagination is your limit!

As I tackled each project during this review, I found that using these items came much easier to me. So if you are frustrated with them, just play around and don’t be afraid to experiment. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

On the third project I felt compelled to document my love of the color purple. I am slowly working on an All about Me album and since all my products were purple; why not scrapbook my love of this color! On this layout, I used the Liquid Walnut Ink, bookplates, and a file folder. See my review on the Liquid Walnut Ink for more information on that specific product. Like I said before, I like the versatility of these products because you can use pieces of it here and there and not use other pieces. The actual bookplates themselves did not look right on this layout so I just used parts of them and made deco squares and circles out of them. I also used the file folder to hold my journaling on what the color purple means. I still don’t like the idea of someone having to take out my layout to see the journaling but I thought that this would work since they really could just reach in and take out just that tag to read it.

My final project is my absolute favorite. On the following layout I used the Mini File Folders and the File tab. I used the File Tab to hook to the hidden journaling so you can just slide that out to read it. I figured I could slit the page protector on the side for people to pull that out. The Mini File Folder I used as an embellishment. I just dressed it up and used it to add a bit of style and pizzazz to my layout. I love the look it gave to my layout.

In summary, I think that these products lend themselves very easily to cards and altered art projects. They are great for the collage look that is so popular right now. They do require some out of the box thinking. This style is just not my style. I did enjoy the Stencil letters and will use them again and again.

Office Werks Products by Creek Bank Creations are miniature copies of common office products cut from high quality textured paper. The line includes: Mini File Folders, Mini File Booklet, Slide Frames, Tags, Tabs, Envelopes, Book Plates, Library Pockets and a Stencil Letter Set. The products are packaged in monochromatic colors.

I had an easy time working with Creek Bank Creations Office Werk Line because the sets are coordinated and because most of the accents are plain. My first example of a layout is titled,"Lizzy's Surgery-Daddy's Girl". This layout demonstrates how cute these little miniature accents can be. The journalizing is hidden in the Open Window File Folder and can be pulled out by the using the little tab.

Page Two has a Mini File Folder with journaling, an Open Window File Folder, Heart Die Cuts, the Envelope Files and the Mini File Folders.

Creek Bank Creations: Office Werks Products are fun, cute and easy to work with. They are perfect for hidden journalling; mini photo albums; greeting cards; and the Open Window Files make beautiful frames for pictures. I liked the quality of the paper and all of the mini tags, die cuts and accessories. A purchased set can be painted, chalked, inked or colored with metallic rub-ons. I definitely plan to use Creek Bank Creations in my future projects. I recommend them for purchase.

Review by Kathleen

I received seven items from the Creek Bank Creations Inc. Office Werks collection. I was a bit puzzled at what to do with them at first since my logical brain screamed "office supplies!" and I have never been a fan of any sort of filing system. But I was pleased to see that these products are made of Bazzill Basics textured cardstock so they coordinate perfectly with my cardstock stash. And since this product comes from a trusted cardstock line, you know that it is both acid and lignin free.

Another feature I liked about the product was that each package contained several pieces. This gave me the initial feeling that I could really play with this product and if I "goofed," I still had plenty of product to work with.

My first layout uses the Office Werks File Tabs and Office Werks Envelope Files, both in monochromatic green. The Office Werks Envelope Files package contains three envelope files. The Office Werks File Tabs package contains 18 file tabs of varying shapes. I used the Office Werks Envelope F ile to contain the journaling of the layout. For the Office Werks File Tab, I used it as a "ribbon slide" rather than a traditional file tab. I used Craf-T metallic rub-ons to distress the Office Werks Envelope File and the Office Werks File Tab.

BasicGrey – Motifica collection
Craf-T – Metallic Run-on
Adhesive Tech – Glue Runner, The Glue Tube

My second layout uses the Office Werks Sans Stencil Mono stencil set in green. This set of stencil letters provides you with both the positive and negative space of the letter so you can use either. The Office Werks Sans Stencil set contains a complete English alphabet with three vowels each, two consonants each, and numbers.

Other – Micron 05 black

My third layout took on the traditional look and feel of office supplies since the subject matter is about organization. For this layout I used Office Werks Mini File Folders and Office Werks Sans Stencil Mono, both in monochromatic green. The package of Office Werks Mini File Folders contains six mini file folders. My journaling for this layout is hidden in these folders. I used the Office Werks San Stencil Mono alphabet set for the leading letters of my title.

The fourth layout uses the Office Werks Windowed File Folders and the Office Werks Bookplate Collection, both in monochromatic green. The Office Werks Windowed File Folders package contains three windowed file folders as well as fifteen tags. The Office Werks Bookplate Collection contains seven coordinating bookplate collections. I used Craf-T metallic rub-ons and decorating chalks to distress the bookplate and file folder.

In summary, the Office Werks collection from Creek Bank Creations, Inc. is a good quality product that coordinates perfectly with Bazzill Basics cardstock. Creek Bank Creations, Inc. offers the Office Werks collection in eight monochromatic colors and the Office Werks San Stencil is offered in fifteen colors. Each package retails for about $3.00 each. For the amount of product available per package and the versatility of the product, I think this is a good bargain. While there is some limitation due to the “office supply” nature, with some creativity on the user’s part or use on other paper crafts, I think this is a great product for all levels of scrapbookers.

Here is a tip from Creekbank's owner, Julie:
Someone mentioned that when the projects are finished and journaling is hidden inside the mini file folders, or pockets that they can't be read. I just wanted to share this tip with you for when you have journaling you want others to read. (this product is great for hidding journalilng..but that is another subject!)

Make your page layout as you desire. Put the page layout in the page protector and lay it on a FLAT surface. (not in the book). Use an embossing stylis to trace the shape you want to cut away. Trace gently around the outside edge where you want your cut marks to appear. You are using the embossing stylis to actually gently "dent" the page protecor, which will give you a cut line for later! An example would be cutting away the rectangular shape of the library pocket so that the files can actually be lifted from the pocket.

Now comes the fun part! Take the page out of the page protector and slip a small cutting mat (I love my small 8.5" x 11" cutting mat for this) or cardboard into the page protector. Slip the cutting mat between the layers of the page protectors.

Use the lines you've traced with the embossing stylis as a guideline for cutting. Use an exacto knife and cut along the line. I usually place my knife edge against a steel ruler for a good straight clean cut. Cut away the section you want to remove.

Take away the cutting board and slip your page back into the page protector. You should be able to easily fit your pockets, and files in the openings you've created. Now everyone can read or see the creative work you've made!
